My testimonial would go something like this.... In a former life I owned a Gibson RB350 and always wanted to get another Gibson ... until I heard Mick Harrison playing his Stelling ... then I wanted one of them. Then I saw "The Rose" Grundy banjo at Beechworth and I knew that was the banjo I wanted. Why would anyone consider a foreign made instrument above an Australian made hand crafted banjo?
Fortunately Laurie had already sold "The Rose" and he showed me the neck of "The White Pointer" which was one of the banjos he was currently working on. At the Harrietville Festival, Laurie had three or four banjos for sale - and I fell in love with "The White Pointer" (you can say that can't you?) So I became the proud owner of Grundy Banjo No: 30.

I cannot find fault with the banjo or with the service provided by Laurie - the banjo was personally delivered and set up and played extensively prior to delivery by Lonny Hoppers - already the banjo has a pedigree!!! I am not so sure that each banjo will be pre played by a bluegrass legend but knowing Laurie's contacts I suppose its a given.
I have the privelege to belong to a bluegrass picking session held every Tuesday at Kieth Lugton's place and the White Pointer is handed around and each and every player agrees it is the finest banjo they have played - p.s. most of the other banjos are Gibsons!
If you are looking for a fantastic banjo which is hand crafted you really cannot go past a Grundy - I already want another one. One of the best features of a Grundy banjo is the "auto correct" function which is an inbuilt feature - even when you fret the wrong note is still sounds sweet. Thank you Laurie for re igniting my love for bluegrass music.
